My parents just got some new surround sound components for their house. If there is moderate or high volume, the whole receiver cuts out.
Here's the setup:
New yamaha 465 reciever (105 watts/channel)
bose acoustimass 3 system
bose vcs-10 center channel
klipsch khc-6 in-ceiling speakers (50w rms)
I've got the front outputs from the receiver running into the bose acoustimass sub unit, which then runs out to the left and right front speakers. I didn't know any other way to hook that part up since the sub doesn't have a normal input.
The center channel and left and right rears (klipsch) are hooked up as they should be.
Not that this part really matters, but I've also got it wired with both the HD-DVR and blu-ray running seperate HDMI ins to the receiver, and then one HDMI out running to the TV.
Is it the acoustimass part screwing things up, or does my receiver just not pump out enough power for everything?
