Problem: Field Monitor to Camera contrast

I am shooting using a DVX100A. My field monitor is the JVC JVC TM-H150CGU. I am discovering that the image I am seeing on the LCD and the Monitor appear to be the same, but when played back on a regular tv the image is a bit brighter than I would like. I am not extremely familiar with field monitors (first time using one). Could someone make a few suggestions?

You need to calibrate your field monitor to the color bars in the camera.

As for TVs, there's no predicting what someone has their TV set to. All you can do is make sure that your footage looks right on a monitor that is properly set up, such that if someone had their TV properly set up, the footage would look right on it. After that, there's no way you can account for all the wild setups out there on peoples' TVs...
