Problem capturing with the A1 & FCP

For some reason my canon A1 doent always get reconized by my mac pro and FCP I herd somewhere its a glitch in either the canon or the FCP software. Has anybody else had this problem ??
 
Not with the same camera but with a Canon. I was using a sony handycam and it was working perfect for capturing and recording to and from FCP. but as soon as I hooked up an XL-2, FCP didn't like it and couldn't see it. kinda weird. I guess canon got the lens thing down just not the compatability thing yet. Hmmm?:huh:
 
I can't get FCP to see the XL H1 that I shot with this weekend. Not at all. the computer sees it, but FCP doesn't. I had to capture the footage thru my Kona LH...which was better anyway, as I was able to capture it as DVCPRO HD...much easier to work with.
