So we shot a short movie, and after capturing we have this effect in 2 scenes (i am glad that its only in 2 scenes)

http://www.oneshot-tv.de/double.mov

it looks like he is doubled, but one frame is not sharp...
it is pulsating or something like that. like interlaced or something, but we shot in 25f
anyone seen this before??
what can i try?

thanks

what shutter speed? in both scenes?
any Noise Reduction? NR1 or NR2 on camera?
was OIS off?
what was the lighting? in both scenes? fluorescent?
was the camera being vibrated at all by an engine of a car or something?

because...

frame doubling or ghosting or trails are caused by one of the NR's.

the jumping could be caused by the OIS if it's on... it should ALWAYS be OFF!

vibrating could also be the external environment (people walking arround/car engine) traveling through the tripod legs... could also be the adapter but I doubt it if other scenes were fine.

but it could also be the pulsing light of fluorescents or HMI's being out of sync with the shutter and it all mixing with the NR.... so yeah...

we shot first with 1/50 - 25 fps
i cant remember if this shot was with 1/25 or 1/50
but before and after this shot everything on tape was ok.

NR was always off
OIS was off too, lighting was 3 x 800 ianebeam
camera stood still on the tripod

i believe most that it was the shutter, but i dont know, because before it was fine
(you could not see this effect in the camera display- only on the computer)

I have no F-ing idea then man. sorry.

could it have been an importing issue? have you tried importing again? you probably have but that's all i can think of.

i've never seen this with my SGpro. but i'd test yours a whole bunch and try to replicate it again.

yes, thanks for helping, tried to capture it again, but did not help.. i think its the shutter, but not shure.. now we have to see if we kick the scene out, or try to reduce this effect with filters.

This cam has interlaced sensor ,so no progressive scan on this cam, your issue could be 25F cause its made in camera probably by blending lines from interlaced.
Read some more about your cam.Check if you have this thing happening without adapter with the same settings.
This cam can output progressive but thats really not a difference if sensor is interlaced. It captures interlaced and editing footage in realtime to get this fake progressive, its not even called 25P cause its 25F.

For what it's worth, there is no practical difference between 25P or 25F. This has been covered in great detail in many other threads in this and other forums. It is NOT fake progressive. It is progressive. It's just created in a different way than it would be with a progressive scan sensor.

The reason that it's called 25F rather than 25P is because of name licensing issues.

yes, but could it be an issue for my problem?!
we shot today again, and again we had this problem, but i saw it on the monitor..
changed the lense (from 24 to 50 mm) and after it , it was better, but not totally gone..

the disk on the adapter could be out of alignment... which would explain the jumping.. but not the double frames... maybe the 1/25th shutter mixed with the interlaced CCD's causes this effect???

I haven't been able to view your video. Some kind of codec / plug-in that won't play on any of my PC's Quicktime directs you to a page where you "might" find the proper plug-in or codec but it never tells you which one.

check shutter before you press record, should be 1/50,it switches itself to 1/25 on some auto settings.
