Probably a dumb question but how do you save as jpeg?

When I go to save my photoshop file there is no setting to save as jpeg? Am I missing something here do I need a plug in?

That's weird, I don't know alot about that but are you sure it's not there? There's alot of formats to save it as, also if you don't know how you go File>Save As then where it says format click the down arrow and choose Jpeg, it's the 7th one down for me. If that doesn't work maybe reinstall?

Hmmm its in my drop down for save as in CS2... But you can also "save for web" its got the option for jpeg as well.

If your image is a black & white bitmap you can't save as JPG, it has to be an image with 8-bit color or more.

Thanks guys I'm not sure the problem I will try save for web I have cs2.

You have to do "Save As". "Save" will only save as a Photoshop file.

Yeah, you can save to JPEG by selecting the Save For Web option in the menu, or the keyboard shortcut is holding down CRTL + ALT + SHIFT + S simultaneously.

You don't have to "Save For Web". You can just do "Save As".
