Pro Res with windows premiere?

If I buy an atomos ninja2 which records pro Res, what will be needed to edit the footage in premiere cs5 or cs6 on a windows machine?

It should work if Win 7 has all of the Pro Res components on the Mac. Generally Windows only have a limited # of codecs that are found on Mac. Last time I check I didn't see Apple Pro Res on Windows 7! It's the last thing Apple want Windows to edit w/ out paying them. The latest Pro Res Codec pack is currently available on the Mac OSX only. Just updated a few of them. That's why people have to spend thousands more on a Mac vs PCs to get that premium codec found only on the Mac. Avid has their own codec that will work for both PC & Mac.

Alternatively the cheapest way I found for both PC & Mac to work with a P2 AVC-I 100/30p workflow. That is PC & Mac compatible. Just did it recently for a particular project. But you have to export and import on both platforms. Pain in the ***s.

I had a drive given to me to edit recently and although my mac was happy, I needed to do the edit on my windows machine and it was a total pain - the codec required (said windows) was not available, and the latest version of QT was already installed - I had to convert it to use on the PC. Very time consuming and I lost money on the job, time wise. 12 minutes of material, and it took me a day to get it out and in in different formats till I found one that worked best.

To make it worse while editing audio ch 2 seemed to have a background crackle, I didn't notice until too late. Thinking this was my fault during the recoding, I went back to the Mac to discover it was in the camera file!

Hey, I just did this. Premiere 5.5 and Windows 7, latest version of quicktime. Anyway, Premiere was not happy with the ProRes file. Turned out once I deleted the Prores audio from the timeline everything was hunky dory. I was tweaking the audio in Audition anyway so my exported wav file was all I needed, just wish it would...you know....work without all the hoops and trouble shooting.

Ah. Good to know. But how would I be able to keep both CS 5.5 & CS6 on the same Win 7? Probably can't and will need to make separate boot partitions just for Apple Pro Res. But deleting audio files to the video is a serious limitations and not suitable for all edit needs.
