Pro looking DIY rain jacket for HVX

Dark Side of the Camera
Beeing a dedicated cheapskate and DIY guy (and always on a tight budget) I talked the wife into making a rain slicker for the HVX.

I bought some waterproof cloth bags and shoe bags and she sew it all together per my instructions.

Et voila! Rain slicker (35mm adapter size) with extra extension for longer lenses, two "sleves" to access the FF, Monitor and controlls and a little jacket for the Firestore with clear foil. All together under 10 bucks. :)

Wow that looks really nice - props to your wife on the sewing! What kind of thread did she use? Is sewing plastic of that weight difficult with a home machine (assuming she used a home machine...)

The bags are from OBI (german version of Home Depot).

The seames are sealed with SeamProof from the local camping store.

The wive is a pretty good taylor and has a semipro machine at home, but she said every decent machine cood do that.

She uses a special "plastic-needle" for that and synthetic thread.

Looks like a very good job ... get the wife to work on a few more or maybe get the process down on paper and pop it out. I'd get my wife to do the same!
