Printing to Tape Problem.

Here it goes:

Shot 24pA, Squeeze. Edited in Final cut. Didn't change any thing, (aspect ratio, frame rate, etc)

I printed to tape.

I am now at coop, and i will make a DVD

When i capture my fotoage in final cut, and then send it t compressor,
in compressor the following.
1- Interlaced footage, looks like crap
2- 4:3 aspect ratio
3- 29.97

Why?

I know i can change the settings in compressor to get my footage 16:9, 23.976, and make it progressive, by why doesn't it keep the settings from FCP, at my home computer?

i think 24p is better to use if you are going to be printing to tape. Now you want to make a dvd (which can play as progressive) but a tape will always be 29.97. So how did you digitize your tape? did you add pulldown? I'm really not sure how to fix your problem because it's been my understanding that 24pa will not print to tape as 23.98.
