hey folks,
I am trying to edit a project in FCP 4.5 HD that I shot on a 100b using an anamorphic adapter. I am trying to print back to tape a properly proportioned 16:9 project that will display properly on a 4:3 TV and projector. I printed it back to tape from my copy of vegas 7.0 at home, and in the camera LCD it showed the proper aspect ratio, but I had to manually set my tv to 16:9 for it to display properly, and the tvs without that option would only show it in squeezed 4:3. The school's projector also showed it that way.
My school also has Sony FX-1s, and they display the proper 16:9 ratio on the projector. does anyone have any advice on how to print to tape in such a way that 4:3 tvs and projectors will recognize the anamorphic footage and properly letterbox it? or will i just have to somehow convert it to a 4:3 letterbox and then print to tape?
(the reason I want to print to tape instead of a dvd is this project will be screened in front of my film class on a 4:3 projector and we use tapes for higher quality.)
Help me here guys, I've got a project due here in a couple of weeks and I'm pulling my hair out.
