anybody here buy replacement ink and refil their printer cartrdiges themselves? it's so much cheaper. i just want to know if it works. and where do they buy their ink from?

There are refill houses here that I am about to try as soon as I run out. My new cartridges cost me 80% of the printer!

I do it all the time for my Cannon s750. It works, but for precision work, get the official ink. The replacement stuff is of slightly inferior quality.

As for the price, companies practically give the printers away, and then make all their money on selling you the consumables. They do this on purpose (have actually heard this from many sources, including an employee of a major manufacturer). Make you think you are getting a great deal, and then nickel and dime you on the ink.

This place is pretty cheap. Worth it more than screwing around with filling cartridges and making your fingers all colors of the rainbow. IMO
