Hi...

Has anyone ever experienced printing to tape only to have the deck flash an error message stating that you can't dub to the deck due to "copyright protection"? By the by, I"m using a Canon ZR40 as a deck instead of something like a DSR-11.

I've encountered this in Premiere before and the workaround was to drop a blank title on a video track and blanket the entire timeline... sort of a "render glaze" as I call it. In fact, that's what I did this evening and it worked fine.

Anyone experience this in Vegas and if so, is my workaround the best solution?

Thanks,
Brice

Hi David...

Okay, in addition to your fantastic Vegas 24p tutorial, I now have two other reasons to officially call you "the man". You live in Wilmington, NC (my future home) and you have an Odyssey 2 cart package as your avatar.

That being said, no this was a spot I was editing for aclient... local TV commercial actually. It seemed to do it just as a certain clip played to the deck... the countdown clip. I didn't try testing it wothout the clip. As I said, I tried the old "render glaze" trick and it worked just fine. I just didn't know if anybody would have any additional input.

And, as you've heard countless times before, your 24p tutorial is about the most concise and informative little piece of video I've watched. Very helpful to me personally.

Thanks man!

Well . . . wow. I appreciate the praise!

And yes, we were the only family around to have an Odyssey 2 back in the day. Alien Invaders - Plus! was one of my favorites.
