PRINT TO VIDEO Camera not receiving

I'm trying to resolve a problem in Print to video on FCP. The cameras (I've tried 2) are just not receiving anything. They are connected to my mac via firewire. I am receiving literally nothing. Anyone got a clue as to what may be the issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ps both cams have DV in capability

Could be any number of things. First, are you sure the firewire ports on your Mac and your cameras work? If not, test them out by capturing. If so, maybe you need to change a menu setting on your camera to allow DV in over firewire. Which cameras are you using?

It's also possible that you need to adjust your FCP output and playback settings so that DV is streaming out over firewire. If you have checked all of this and it still doesn't work, I would suggest trashing your FCP preferences, restarting the Mac, and trying again. Use this easy setup: DV-PAL FireWire Basic.

Thanks Will, I'll report back. I have tried some but not all of those things before, and think it may be a preferences / playback settings issue - I will follow that path a little further now you have suggested the same thing. Many Thanks Titas
