print to tape

Hey,
Okay, I know how tho print to tape using the sofware but what settings/mode should my camera be in? I've tried everything. Thanks in advance!
 
Sorry, the software is FCP 6 and the footage is all 24p.

I got all the instructions on how to print to tape from my Apple Pro Taining Series: FCP 6 book. I just don't know what to do w/ the camera

The footy is 24P DV shot w/ my DVX 100a. I used a 24p easy set-up to capure and edit it. Then I did a print to tape (apple M is the keyboard short cut I believe). I then input the specifics like length of color bars, etc. I then pluged the camera back into the firewire, and pushed ok to start the sequence, the sequence appears to start up ok. The color bars run the countdown begins. I push record on the camera, but when I try to watch the tape it's blank. What I'm not sure about is, is my camera to be in camera mode or playback mode? I assumed it was to be in camera mode. Thanks
 
Camera needs to be in VCR mode and the you press the record buttons on the VCR transport- not the start/stop record from the camera mode.
