good folks

i thought i had this problem solved, but i was wrong again.

after Printing my tape to video, i tried playing it back through log and capture, as i dont yet have my monitor. tomorrow.

but again, all i get is a series of pink and gray marks.

i believe my setup of dsr-11 and computer is correct but something somewhere is terribly wrong.

i am desperate and would appreciate any thoughts.

the dsr-11 is fairly new, as is all the equipment.

i have been able to long and capture for months now, and this was my first try at printing to video. HELP! ??? ???

Re: print to tape woes, part 2

Sounds like you'r eflying blind. Can you hook up a camera to the analog outputs of the deck? This would be able to display video output. Anything to confirm that you're getting the correct signla into your system.
Step through any instructions with the deck and double check connections.

Re: print to tape woes, part 2

thanks.
just did a little tweaking here and there and print to tape is indeed working -- WITH ONE PROBLEM. i'm getting the video but not the audio.

again, my setup is computer and deck, no monitor. what should the correct audio settings be>

and then i'll celebrate.

thanks.
after tweaking, i can print to video, but one big problem remaining - no sound.

what should the a/v settings be for my setup, which is g5 and deck, but no monitor.

Re: print to tape woes, part 2

You audio should go fine IF it's set to go to the firewire drive. Make sure it doesn't have to render. For the moment connect the A/V out of your deck to a camera or DVX100 and see if it's all working.
