Print to Tape Problem - Help Please!

Hello everyone

I have had some problems as of late in the area of printing to tape from FCP 6 to my DVX-100a. At first it worked for 2 minutes and 20 seconds and then stopped due to dropped frames. So I popped in my head cleaner tape ran it for about 10 seconds and then tried again. Now it won't even record more than 6 seconds - it stops recording and flashes that there is no tape inside. I review the 6 seconds it did record and it looks and sounds great. I tried unhooking it from the computer and recording just black (in VCR mode) and it does the same thing - flashes no tape. I switched it over to camera mode and it records normally.

I looked in the manual for what the flashing tape means and did a few forum/google searches but found no help so... you guys are my only hope!

*Update*

I just tried my old Panasonic camcorder and it is doing the exact same thing - records for about 6 or 7 seconds and then stops, flashes a tape symbol. This is very odd. I even disconnected my firewire and it still doesn't record black (in VCR mode).

*Update* (for those few who care lol)

I discovered the solution - in the final cut audio/video settings I had to create a new presest for device playback and set it to 23.98 but equally as important I had to switch it from Apple firewire to Apple firewire Basic.

All is good!
