Print to Tape and Timecode

I'm trying to print a sequence to miniDV in FCP using a Panasonic deck. I don't know if it's possible, but i want the deck to use the timecode from FCP, not create its own. is this even possible?
 
Depends on the deck, but most default to taking timecode from FCP. If the deck is generating its own, there's probably a menu setting you can change.
 
The best way to do this is firstly do a google for 'simple video out' install the .dmg and then in FCP mark the in and outs on your timeline export as a hinted movie.

Open up simple video out and load the hinted file.

make sure your deck is set for EXTERNAL timecode.

hit record on the deck and then hit the space bar to play your movie.

Vwalla! Simple Video Out lays off the movie and the timecode used in FCP.
