Not sure why no one has reviewed this yet....

It's my fave. film of the year so far...really struck a cord with me...

I loved it...

Going to see it again tomorrow.

Much better than the first Narnia film, though I think watching them back to back they'll prove a good combination together.

Hey Brandon...

I saw it too. Made an adventure out of it. Took my 10 year old son down to LA with me on a business trip and got tix online to the opening night show at the El Capitan theater in Hollywood.

SO the whole event was more special than I can even begin to talk about. If people ever have the chance to go see a disney premier at the El Cap... do it. We might even run down for Wall-e before we move to Ohio.

Anyway -

So Disney really had our hearts captivated with the live organ, the pre movie stage show, all the sets dressing the theater... when the movie actually started I was ready.

I felt the kids acting was passable in the first Narnia and had already set my sights low for this one. But I was pleasantly surprised. Much better.

The addition of the humor in a VERY dark story was a nice touch though not so in keeping with the CSLewis stories. Eddie Izzard was a blast to listen to.

The effects were about the same if not a smidge better than the first movie. No change there. The horse/people still look way too stiff to be real.

I've read a lot of posts on DVX about the theater experience dying. Going to an opening night with a perfect print and a very receptive audience... the laughter was genuine, the applause was inspired... wonderful time!! (haha, cept for that one time where a choice had to be made and the Prince made what seemed like a different choice than what he was destined to make... half of the audience applauded weakly and then the other half boo'd - funny moment in the theater)
