If i could figure out how to upload pictures, something wrong , always says i am uploading the wrong file type. I have the issue with my phone. Not sure if it happens on my computer. But kind of works out, i’d be posting some of these silly looking product pics.
Although, some of the ridiculous looking products start looking like great ideas depending on the workni am doing. Like i shot steadicam this weekend, and then seeing the posture correctors on sale, i am thinking, hmmm maybe not bad! Haha. I’ll save some money and do some yoga.

This one isn’t so much a deal as it is a light concept that would be great for shooters on the go.

Works like an accordian to make an instant mini “chimera”, but folds down into a notebook size.

I imagine flicker and green spike is a big possibility with these consumer versions:
Book Lamp Folding Portable Desk Light ,Novelty LED Paper Lantern with USB Rechargeable Wooden (Size 5.7×4.3×1in) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B467GV7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_fPmlDbR2BYVFD

...and then 20% off at checkout for this dimmer. I think Quasar combos these with their tubes:
Leviton TBL03-10E Tabletop Slide Control Lamp Dimmer, 300-Watt, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A80756O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_6SmlDbF9Q280E

Led dimmable

I am not much of a post person, I have been on the lookout for a lightweight that can handle basic data transfer, editing or coloring with out too much slowing me down or pulling me into those preditor gigs.

Razer Blade 15: World's Smallest 15.6" Gaming Laptop - 60Hz Full HD Thin Bezel - 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H 6 Core - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Max-Q - 16GB RAM - 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD - Windows 10 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HPQPNV1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_WjnlDbFWEZ0CK

Lightweight means heating issues, means i won’t be editing any projects, but can playback ;)

Finding random things now:

Fanny pack for athletic ops, or if you operate in spandex
Sport2People Running Pouch Belt, USA Patented, Runner Waist Pack iPhone X 6 7 8 for Men and Women (black, one size, 2 pockets) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019BQNTL0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_8WslDb3PFEA6A

Crocks but socially acceptable?
ALEADER Men's Quick Drying Aqua Water Shoes Red 8.5 D(M) US https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U4HGAUI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_5YslDbS39VH13

I might get these for wading in puddles:

There was a rumor of a crazy LG OLLED deal. But haven’t seen it.

Adorama’s may have better deals, as they are also running a 48hr sale.

Some good Astra 6x prices.

- Rokinon
- litepanels, including Gemini
- aputure, the 120t (tungsten) is $299
- tokina 11-16 pro for $299
- ronin s is about $60 off

Ebay is running some deals too, but at that point shopping that hard is probably better things to do.

I think it should be a great backup solution, if anything, overkill. I would double check my work here but my understanding was that NAS drives prioritize long term reliability in terms of a ton of read/write cycles that a NAS might experience. Still fast, but not top level fast like a ultra fast performance oriented drive. As for traditional backup drives, since not experiencing high read/write cycles, they aren't as reliable as a NAS drive for heavy use (but that shouldn't affect their more intermittent use and associated reliability as a backup drive).

That's a long way of saying, if my understanding is correct, that there is no reason a NAS hdd wouldn't be a great (if overkill) backup drive.

I think after all said and done, I am not a fan of Prime Day. Maybe I sound cynical but here's my 2 cents:

Pros...

- Great deals on Amazon products
- A handful of genuinely good deals (PS4 Pro bundles, Bose Sleep buds and other products, Dark Knight Trilogy, some links here)

But...

- A ton of slightly discounted junk, or slightly discounted quality but niche items
- Gimmicky lightning sales that remind me of QFC shopping network
- Prime live, which remind me of QFC shopping network
- Inconsistent deals that penalize customers (I am talking about a lightning sale on something you just bought on Prime Day 1).

I hate sales that encourage a user to spend all day for 2 days checking back in for constantly changing deals, it's manipulative/exploitative to human psychology and encourages fear based spending on junk as well as compulsive distraction. I also think it penalizes customers, as mentioned, I bought something just yesterday on "Prime Day" only to see the same item cheaper today on a lightning sale. It was only a few bucks, so whatever. The hassle of reaching out to CS to make it right is odd and not worth it, especially considering they are "lightning" deals so how is one to prove you got it without placing a second order and then trying to deal with a refund?

On top of that, I saw some articles today about "Prime Day 2" and how Amazon was misleading, making it look like a deal would run out, only to replace the Day 1 deal which expired with a *BETTER* deal on Day 2! This is asinine IMO.

I have a lot more respect for sales that just have a set price for the duration of the sale. No problem with lightning sales, either, but do them all up front so no one ends up penalized for being "early" to Prime Day. That's just backwards.

Anyway, just a little less amused this year. Minor things, but all in all this feels like the world shouting about some giant sale that's mostly $5-$15 off random junk. This is so NOT black friday in july lol.

Agreed. I poked around for about 10 min yesterday & concluded the exact same thing. And cynically am starting to think "our world" is becoming more & more of this.

I didn't see any really great deals for gear that video pros need or want, I see a bunch of junk that is geared toward just regular consumers. I saw the Go Pro Hero 5 for $150.00, which WAS appealing as I need two 5s or 6s,
my 7 doesn't work at all with our Refuel 6 hour batteries, even though it should so need a couple of 5s or 6s. But when I clicked, it was $164.95 for a reconditioned, not even a new Hero 5.
If you read the user reviews, only about a 50% chance the reconditioned 5 will even work properly. Pass.
