Re: Price

Hi aidan

Try searching around the forum. There have been 800 million discussions on this subject matter (price, what to buy, this or that). The big thing that stands out for me in difference is 24p.

Now why would you want anything other than 24p?

Re: Price

DVC80's long gone, and there were many differences other than just 24P. The DVC80 disappeared when the DVC30 came on the market.

Re: Price

And, naturally, Panasonic gave the newer camera a 'lower' model number to further aid in our confusion... ::)

Re: Price

I saw the DVC30 at the EXpo, it has infared for extremely low light and it does that in BW of course. It was pretty sharp. It is smaller than the DVX 100a, but has 16x optical zoom, I tested the digital zoom, there was no pixelation, it was pretty smooth. Has less manual controls and settings than the 100a. It is a cute little thing.

Re: Price

I assume by infrared you mean near-infrared? True infrared would make the cost skyrocket.

Re: Price

so can anyone please explain to me what 24p is,and if it is important

???

Re: Price

also, is there a big defference between teh 100 and 100a?, is it worth the couplhundred dollar difference?
