Price of Bulbs

As I am shopping around for a light kit, I am noticing that most of them do not come with bulbs. How much extra do bulbs cost? I know it has to do with wattage. I am looking at some Arri Fresnels (D1 or D2 kit) a HMI light not sure which right now.

Why are the bulbs not included in with everything else? You pay all that money for the kit, the bulbs ought to be included in the full price.

Some do, some don't. As for bulb cost, you've got to find the bulb code (like EJD) and then look it up at a place like B&H or bulbman.com. Tungsten lamps are usually somewhere around $15-$40 or so, up to about $100 for a 2k lamp (although an Arri BCM lamp is over $2400 by itself! Not the light, just the replacement bulb. Of course, it's 20,000 watts too...)

Have spares on hand, because they have a nasty habit of burning out when you least want them to.
