Previewing in FCP?

I have a 23'' Apple Cinema Display. Does anybody know if I can preview a movie or my timeline in FCP... in a fashion, that makes the entire background black -- everything except what I am previewing and presents the movie (similar to the "present the movie" function in quicktime?". Does that make sense?

Your help is greatly appreciated!
