Previewing at 2fps w/Mercury Playback Engine?

I had a macbook pro with a dual-core Intel i7 cpu, and Nvidia GeForce GT 330M that worked fine previewing unrendered DSLR h.264 without GPU acceleration, but I just got a new notebook with a quad-core Intel i7-2720Q and Nvidia Quadro 3000M, and it bogs down to ~2fps while previewing. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

I'm using CS5.5, and in the General Project Settings I have it set to Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration.

5.5 has some issues with certain DSLR footage that 5.0 didn't have. Adobe is working on it.

Thank you very much Jim. I'll try renaming to .mpg. This will probably work

edit - Real-time again. It works, but I hope Adobe fixes this soon.
