Preview dislplay adjustment

Hi there!
I am a little confused because of the Vegas 5 display. In normal or edit mode it shows:

Project:720x480x32
Preview:360x240x32
Display:360x240x32

That's OK. But when Vegas is in under render mode /in PAL VCD for example/ the display becomes smaller, and the parameters become exactly as shown below:

Project:720x480x32
Preview:360x240x32
Display:176x144x32

I think that I have made this somehow, because before there were not any changes of the screen size. So, how to keep the same proportions of display parameters, i.e. to avoid the smaller display during rendering??? Thank you!!!

Re: Preview dislplay adjustment

The smaller display during rendering is OK. By what you’re showing there, you’re in an NTSC project but rendering to PAL, and you’re also rendering to VCD.

VCD is rendered at MPEG-1 which is lower resolution than DV. Also, PAL is larger than NTSC and I suspect that going to the smaller preview is the only way the picture will fit on your screen at the size you have your windows.

To make it larger, increase the size of your preview window.

Piggybacking on his question and your advice, how do you increase the size of the preview window?

Re: Preview dislplay adjustment

You can increase the window like you would with any multi-framed Windows app -- just grab the "borders" and slide to taste.

Or, grab the vertical row of dots to the left of the preview screen and detach it altogether -- then you can make the separate window as big or as small as you want.

It helps if you change your screen resolution to at least 1024x768 to give you more room . . .

And dual monitors is the best solution of all.
