“SCHISM” MOVIE TEST SCREENINGS AT EDINBORO UNIVERSITY
Erie, PA, March 14, 2008 – After two years in the making Lyons Den Productions and Edinboro University of Pennsylvania are proud to announce test screening dates of “schism”. Director John C. Lyons will screen his first feature length film on Thursday, April 17th at 8PM at the Louis C. Cole Memorial Auditorium at Edinboro University. An encore screening will be held the following evening Friday, April 18th at 8PM. Members of the cast and crew will be in attendance and both screenings will be followed by a question and answer session with the filmmakers. Anonymous ratings cards will be given to those in attendance. These events are open to both students and the public.
Of the screenings, Lyons said, “A lot of people have put their heart and soul into this movie, and I wish I could bring every one of them up on stage with me for the Q&A’s, but we’re going to have some great groups up there – it will be fun and informative!”
A drama, “schism” tells the story of a man’s descent into Alzheimer’s dementia. The 50-day production was shot at several locations in the Erie-area including Brevillier Village, an operational nursing facility. Lyons said “The movie is everything I could have imagined when writing the script. I wanted to raise awareness of the reality of Alzheimer’s and to never show the facility in a bad light. But to realistically portray the hard work the staff does on a daily basis and the struggles that residents experience. I believe it will touch many viewers who have lost loved ones to this terrible disease.” More information about the film can be found at the website www.schismmovie.com which will be re-launching soon.
Tickets are available now for both screenings of “schism”. Seating is limited, order tickets online at www.edinborotickets.com. For phone orders and questions please call 814-732-1048. General admission tickets are $5.00 in advance and $7.00 the week of the screenings and at the door. Sales will benefit the Edinboro Film Series.
