Preparing still images for use in video

Hi

I recently did a video for a design agency and I got the designers to provide stills at 300dpi and rgb colour.

I dropped them into the video however when they were outputted into the final AVI format most of them had a buzzing effect when appearring even on a PC screen. I sometimes find this problem happens with title bars too.

Is there a fail safe process to avoid this problem in the future?

I have heard photshop can solve the problem but to date have always foudn using still images a bit unpredictable.

Any advice woudl be greatly appreciated!

Regarding the "buzzing effect" I've found that if I reduce the resolution by resizing / resampling in Photoshop it reduces the flicker caused by fine lines in the high res image. If I have an image that's 2000 x 1000 and I don't need all the extra resolution I'll rescale it to 1000 x 500 before I bring it into the NLE.
