Premiere Titles and 25p

I wonder if anyone can help me?

I edit using 25p (I'm from PAL-land) and mostly use Premiere - whenever I make titles, they are always 50i - which isn't that much of a problem, but I usually put a bit of motion in the titles - and they look very nasty\interlaced against the pretty progressive images from my DVX!

Is there anything I can do to tell premiere that I want the titles to 'move' in 25 progressive frames, as supposed to 50 interlaced?

Wow- so I've finally done it & stumped the DVXuser intelligentsia with this one...

I don't use Premiere any more, but back on version 6.0 there was an option for Field Rendering, which would be "upper first", "lower first", and "none"... try changing your project settings to "none" and see if that does what you want.

I do not understand what you mean by - "you make titles that are always 50i" ---- How do you do that ?

Premiere Project (you set up) determines the settings . A Premiere title is independent as a graphic ( you could make it in Photoshop if you wanted to for example) until you place it in the timeline and render it out with the rest of your project.

If you are working in a 25p project -- your title will render to those settings. Its only a graphic ( with or without motion) to PP.

Prem 6.5 renders in 50i - unlike the NTSC 24p-pull down, 25p is a simple 2:2 process, so there isn't a special 25p 'settings' option at the start. I can only select DV PAL or DV NTSC - there's no special options towards progressive that I notice.

Thanks - I think that should work, but when I rendered a project, it still seemed a bit "interlaced" to me...

I think all my titles might have to be done in Vegas!

Sorry - did not realise you were using 6.5.

Prem Pro can create a 25P project (and by the way is well worth the upgrade).
