premiere speeding everything up?

i was messing with audio settings on my computer the other day for video games (not sure if related). Now opening any premiere project new or old, the video seems to be sped up a little. Looking at the time of the video clips it isnt actually sped up, its just choppy, looks sped up and the audio pitch / tempo is faster. Still dont understand how the actual clip length is the same when it feels like its sped up %40.

anyone know what i might have done or how to fix this issue? its not happening on videos outside of premiere. quick way to reset all my premiere settings without losing presets like luts? or a computer setting that might have been changed?

I don't know if this ever got resolved, but had this issue recently. The solution was to check my audio input devices in the preferences menu, and set it to "none". Turns Premiere wanted to use the cheap USB s-video/rca adapter I was using to copy some old VHS home videos for a friend as an audio input device, and it was jacking it up.
