Premiere Screenshot Question

Hey all,

So i'm an FCP guy, been editing since FCP 2 (no not studio 2, FCP 2), and I just started working for a new legal video company. They are setting me up with FCP but until then i'm running on Premiere CS3. I need to pull about 50-75 stills from around 40 hours of footage and for some reason I can't find the screen shot option (or create a still frame option) in Premiere.

I'm sorry if this is a very basic question and i'm just missing the obvious but i've done about 30 min of research (threads, google, etc...) and nothing is really coming up. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks all.

nevermind! lynda.com rescued me.

You think they would make it easier than "Frame Hold"

Thanks adobe!!

if you want to make it real easy on yourself since you have so many to do, just go into (edit-> keyboard customization) and create a shortcut key for exporting a frame. then you can just tap one key and be at the export dialog to export the frame your on. :)

what does it take to get a clear screen cap? I see other people post caps from the A1 that look like a good digital still. I tried the Export>Frame but the image quality is terrble, the dimensions are off and the image looks squeezed. I tried both BMP and TIFF. Any suggestions?

Hi Tom,

Which version of Premiere do you have?

CS3 corrects for the aspect on output. You might need to correct for the aspect in the settings. The A1 is 1.33, the VGA pixel aspect is 1.0, so the image will be squished.

Correct it on output or resize it in Photoshop (without Constraining Proportions).
