Premiere Pro to After Effects workflow question

Stupid question of the day:

After you've sent a clip from Premiere Pro to After Effects using Replace with After Effects Composition and done what you've needed to do....what do you do then...just render the composition and it should automatically replace the original clip?

You don't have to render it in After Effects at all. Just go back to Premiere and the clip on the timeline will be replaced with the one from After Effects. Render it in Premiere.

There's nothing "wrong" with it, but it's not "correct" for every situation, YMMV.

I do a lot of corporate work, and while the dynamic linking of AE comps in Premiere timelines works, it's often clunky or inconvenient. You should try it out & see if it works for you. Don't hesitate to replace the AE comp in your sequence with rendered output if you find that you don't like having to re render in Premiere, or if you find the performance otherwise clunky.
