Basically the deal is this, I need to digitize an entire tape, blur out a section of the frame (classified materials), then output that back onto a fresh HDV tape that I am allowed to have. I want to be able to just plug the deck into the computer via firewire, use built in presets in the NLE for HDV settings, and then do the digitize and output.
The guys I have to setup this up for are Premiere users right now I believe (not sure what version, but do believe its a little old). So can Premiere Pro handle this easily and well? Should I be getting Pro 2.0 for them for this? If Premiere doesn't play great with HDV, then any recommendations of another NLE that might, one that is within a similar price ballpark?
