i have the flash effect for after effects and even vegas has it. Does anyone know of or have the flash effect for pro? i'm willing to trade effects if anyone is interested.

You using a dvx? Cause if you havent yet captured the footage you can do white out from camera. +

Keyframe your white levels so they increase in the first clip and then decrease in the next. So, in the first clip you'd start with a normal white level and then boost it up until everything is blown out. Then, for the second clip, you'd start with the white level boosted and decrease until the levels are normal.

Do it yourself. What you're looking to do is a White Washout. I got this tip fro Sirius Doggy in an earlier post:

Drop the "Levels" effect onto your clip. It's located in the Video Effects/Adjust folder. Keep everything set to normal and set a keyframe where you want the washout to start. Then go to where you want the washout to go completely white and set another keyframe. Then adjust the "RGB White Input levels" to 0 which will give you a full white blowout.

This looks more like an over-exposure than the dissolve to white matte.

i'm a blonde, cuz that was right under my nose too..oh well....sometimes ppl just need a hint to find that special effect/transition :D
nice..i will try that stuff..thanx guys
always helpufull and informative
i love this friggin place
i was up till 3am working last night...bloody hell, i need a java.

I also find a keyframe for brightness and contrast works well too, it gives it a different look, and in my opinion, looks a bit more like a film roll out than a straight white transition. Another way to do the white though, is to make a color matte of white and just put 1 or 2 frames of it between clips, just experiment and see which way you like best.

That camera flash plug in from buena does work in Premiere Pro. I use it and have it set up as a preset.

It is very difficult to simulate it exactly by other means. It has some nice features like chroma "bloom". . eg the flash ( over exposure) can produce a chroma blow out to what ever color.

It is key frameable on all its levels which is helpful.

I recall that it was free.

Works great in PPro for me too!

Try it inPro - it works.

I just made a preset out of it for a project I was working on. Once it is a preset it is very easy to modify it for any other instance.

I also used the great tips mentioned in this thread (I asked a similar question a while back and people were really great in helping me too) but I didn't know that I could use the Buena effect in Pro. Do I have to move some files manually to certain folders? How does it work? Would also be grateful for some initial presets to tinker with:)

the .aex plug in ( camera flash ) needs to be in the 'AE' plug ins folder in the Premiere Pro plug ins path. ( en_us/ etc)
