Premiere Pro CS5 + 5D = 24, 23.976 or 23.98?

Anyone know what the native 24p on a 5D MkII is? Is is 24fps, 23.976 or 23.98?

I ask because when I export out of Premiere at 23.976 with H264 I get some choppiness, but when exporting with "Match Sequence Settings" It reads the 5D footage as 23.98 and not 23.976. I thought that wouldnt matter, but the 23.98 export turned out perfect.

I know some have said 23.98 and 23.976 are the same thing because they are so close in frame rates, but are they really the exact same thing?

One is to two decimal places, the other is to three decimal places. Even if they weren't, in the course of a 90 minute movie the difference is 21 frames.

Typically 23.98 is the rounding of 23.976. The actual rate is 24x(1000/1001) which is 23.97602398. Was there a pattern to the choppiness? How long was the piece?

There may be something else going on that just the Frame rate setting, and as indicated the official 'ratio' is 1000/1001. It could that when you configure your 'output' for H.264 manually, you have too low a bit rate for the media, and would then see 'choppiness'. Or alternatively, too high a bitrate for your display device...

Other things can happen as well, like on occasion, I've noticed some 'strange' setups where I end up with something like 50i instead of 23.976 fps...

I think it might be the "Frame Blending" option during export.

Thanks for the replies guys.
