Premiere Pro CS5 5.0.2 Update

Ah, they fixed a lot of bugs that were plaguing my production team on our film.

And now we are almost finished....*sigh*

Next film will be smoother sailing I guess.

Where is the Adobe Media Encoder CS5 (5.0.1) update?

On the site it says:
You should also install the Adobe Media Encoder CS5 (5.0.1) update (Windows or Mac OS), which got some bug fixes and additional formats and export settings presets, including several for F4V and FLV formats.

When I click that link, all I see is Version 4.2.0.

Thanks, Frank

I think every Premiere owner out there thank you for this particular fix if it works as promised

"Adobe Premiere Pro projects files were growing very large (“bloating”), causing projects to take a long time to load, and sometimes causing projects to fail to load."

#1 issue that's been plaguing Premiere I'd say. Downloading the update now.

After update my
mercury playback engine GPU Acceleration is not showing up,
on the
New Project> Video Rendering and Playbacks> Mercury playback Engine software only,
HELP

whats your card? If you did the hack, just do it again. I lost my mercury playback too as it overwrites the cuda supported cards.txt file that i "hacked" to include my gtx460

I seem to have lost some of my previews after the update. Well, about half of them. Is there a way to relink previews?

i have the same issue too, but i tried adding in my GTX 260 again but i keep getting the "full cuda initialization did not succeed." message...

am i the only one?

My update last night went fine. My supported CUDA file got reset, I just added my GTX 460 to it, run GPUsniffer.exe and all was good.

I ran into that bloated file thing on the first darn project I moved over to CS5 and thank goodness I found that 'delete previews' trick, or that project file was unusable...

Did anyone find the Adobe Media Encoder CS5 (5.0.1) update?

Oh. forgot to add this the other post.. for those who have 'lost' your preview files... check to see the status of your Mercury Playback Engine is where you want it. I know when you toggle it, it says you'll lose your preview files.. if you've done the CUDA hack, applying this update, then run Premiere, the MPE will be disabled and those render files will be gone without any warning.

In theory anyways. Are they gone for good? No idea.

I ran the update this morning and now all my presets are gone. I am back to just the trial mode presets (DV, DVCPROHD etc..) No DSLR, HDCAM, HDV or anything. WTF?

It still runs fine, but it is like it is in trial mode, and I have no presets. Any ideas? Need to start a project soon.

Some folks have had the experience of losing the "protected content" (i.e., reverting to trial mode after the update). This is fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling Premiere Pro and then manually applying the update.

The only way that I've found to get the Adobe Media Encoder update is to choose Help > Updates and have the automatic updater (Adobe Application Manager) do it. The direct download of the Adobe Media Encoder CS5 (5.0.1) update isn't yet available on the Adobe website. I've talked to the people responsible for updating this page, and they say that they're getting to it.

To prevent a bunch of problems, a iron rule here is:
Never have any physical Internet connection on workstations/NLEs - but a dedicated computer just for surfing,
so I guess I have to wait for the update.

Thanks, Todd
