Premiere Pro CS4 Export Problem - "Could not read from source"

Hi guys, I just tried to piece together some footage from the HMC150 in Premiere Pro CS4 and then export the sequence. Really simple eh?

Except it brings up AME and then it says "Waiting" in the status window. I walked away to do other things and when I came back it says:

AMEEncodingErrorLog.txt said:

The problem with that is that my source is a sequence coming from a Premiere project in C:\Projects\HMC150\

Is the problem that it is looking for the sequence in some temporary directory? All the source files in the project are in place so it doesn't seem like that's the problem.

Any thoughts?

Did you have an older version of premiere or AME installed on there? I had this issue as well. You need to make sure that the older version is gone before you install cs4. Should work fine worked for me and the others who helped me.

I do!! I have Premiere Pro 1.5

I kind of don't want to get rid of it because I am still editing on 1.5 and exporting using Procoder 3. At any rate, I'll uninstall 1.5 and give it another shot to make sure that that is the problem. Thanks for the tip.

uninstall both 1.5 and cs4.... then re-install cs4.... a pain but it what you got to do.

cs4 should be able to handle your 1.5 projects. We had no problems upgrading from 1.5 to 2.0 and then 2.0 to cs4. you just can't go backwards. (work on a cs4 project in 1.5)

When I first got CS4 I attempted to export a sequence and I was not able to get one single usable file. Either the video came out with extreme amounts of artifact, very blurry, jumpy, frames missing. Quicktime with H.264 or mpeg-4 avi, nothing came out looking right. Then I installed 1.5 again.

Were there people also having issues with quality of export with AME CS4 because of an existing Premiere installation?

I never had an issue like that, however there have been a few updates for AME so I would try it again.

Personally I like AME I use it a lot just to even convert a video in to an FLV for web.
