Premiere Pro CS4 Choppy Playback...

So I have a new HP laptop with the following specs:

HP Pavilion dv7t Select Edition PC
• Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
• Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-720QM Quad Core processor (1.6GHz, 6MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 2.8 GHz
• 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5650 [HDMI, VGA] - For Quad Core Processors
• FREE Upgrade to 6GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
• 750GB 5200RPM Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
• 17.3" diagonal HD+ High-Definition HP LED BrightView Widescreen Display (1600 x 900)

Anyway, I'm shooting with a hdslr and I use Neoscene to convert the files. Now, on my much worse (dual core, four gigs of ram, etc)

anyway, If I play a video cip in say, windows media player (after converted in Neoscene) it plays just fine. BUT, when I bring that same file into Premiere pro cs4 it's choppy. The files have an orange bar on above them, but even after rendering, they play back choppy.

*EDIT
Additionally, adding a keyframe to the clip and rendering it, it still runs choppy. Now, in AE if I render it out, it runs fine. Should I re-install premiere?
Any help would be great!

Watsup Seth! I would update both Neoscene and premiere. If that doesnt work, do a refresh reinstall of both. I kinda had a similar issue bout 6 months ago before updating to CS5, so I just reinstalled the whole Production Premium with the original disks. Cleared it up......somehow. Now Im running CS5 with the version 5 Neoscene and man I must tell ya, you will definitely fly with this combo. Hope that helps.

hey kay! thanks man...I'll give that a shot. Did you pay for the update on cineform? I'm running the adobe updater now....

Actually I was one of lucky ones that got the FREE update if you purchased the old version of NeoScene within a month or two before Version 5 came out. I just barely made the cut off date.

Yep. that was it. I did try updating my CS4 previously, but unbeknown to me, my firewall prevented it. Anyway, thanks.
