Hello, I've been reading the dvxuser forums for a few years now and have always been able to find the answers to my questions without ever having to actually ask them. Here's one I can't find the answer to though. I am using Premiere Pro CS3 on a windows XP Machine. I've always had jerky playback in the monitor when I would play a timeline back and have done many searches for a possible solution t no avail. It seems that this happens to many people but there's no real answer. Everything I've read just says get ore RAM and a better graphics card. I didn't really buy into this too much because After Effects S3 runs really well. However, I increased my RAM from 1G to 3G and nothing at all changed in Premiere. Everything else ran a lot faster but not premiere. I figured I would just accept it and move on. Until........ Last week I started having problems exporting from Premiere. First it would just stop and give me an error but if I tried a few more times I could get it to render. Then a few days later I couldn't render anything at all. This happened using the export option or the Adobe Media Encoder regardless of what settings I chose. It just wouldn't render anything at all. I tracked it down to Cross Dissolves. If I got rid of any cross dissolves I could get a good render, add them back in and no render at all. Then this week I couldn't render anything at all.

About the same time I was having the render issues I noticed that itunes started having trouble and telling me my library was invalid. I did all the stuff the itunes guys said to do to fix the library but nothing worked. Everytime I tried to fix it it would duplicate my library but it was still invalid. Finally today I uninstalled itunes and just like magic everything in Premiere works perfectly. The video in the monitor is smoot as silk. I can render anything I want and it's multiple times faster than before. Had itunes not messed up I would have never even thought the two programs were not playing well together. So now Premiere is running awesome but now I'm itunesless.
Has anyone ever run into this or do you have any suggestions how I can get the two programs to cooperate? Could there be a deeper underlying unrelated issue that caused the two to give up the ghost?
Thanks for indulging me in my first real post.
