now it's always a crazy discussion with the fewest conclusive answer on how to deal with 1080i/24pa footage. fcp says it can do it natively, but it can't do it well sometimes, sometimes there are issues with cinema tools, there are known issues with raylight when it comes to mxfx with avid. there's also after effects but i dunno if it will retain the audio.
my goal is to figure out they best way to get 1080i/24pa footage into avid with the advanced pulldown removed.
so if anybody can help me out of figuring if this will work (i don't have the equipment or software yet) it would be the greatest help.
i'm reading premiere cs4 can directly take in p2, do advanced pulldown removal, and re export as a p2 archive file. so, the theory is
have premiere, take in the p2, remove pulldown, re archive, and ingest that archive into avid on a 1080/23.97 timeline. i dunno how well this will work, and i haven't worked with premiere since 6.0, so i wouldn't even know how to remove the pulldown in it, and if i can just highlight all my clips in a bin and archive from there.
thoughts? comments? ideas?
