Premiere Pro 2.0 (cs3) + Matrox RT.X2 + HVX200...compatable?

I am thinking about getting the Matrox RT.X2 and was wondering if anyone here uses it or has any experience using it?
Mainly how it works (or will work with the 3.0 update) with the HVX200 recording @ 720p/24pN mode?

Does it supprt the DVCProHD 720p/24pN modes (including over and undercranking)?

Also...

Is there any other options out there that are similiar to the RT.X2? Something better but in the same price range maybe?

Thanks in advance for any info.

we've got the rtx2 with pp2.0 and there is no dvcprohd support - I think you have to step up to the AXIO line for this. for my HVX footage I just use cineform aspect. I dont know of any other hardware solutions like the rtx2 that would do this at that price range. Everything I know of is software (raylight and cineform - both MUCH cheaper than the rtx2). We get alot of HDV footage in and the rtx2 really rocks for that.

I'm pretty interested in this myself, having just invested in the RT.X2/Production Studio bundle. No support for DVCPROHD, 720p HD, or MXF files at present, but it looks like the v3.0 release of the Matrox mx.tools will provide this functionality. Their press release mentions "Native editing of Panasonic P2 MXF 720p and SD files", which to me indicates that there will be a built-in Matrox codec and project setting to handle said media--though it looks like we're out of luck for 1080 for the time being. The next line of the release mentions "Panasonic VariCam 720p support" which would suggest variable frame rate support in the 720p flavor of DVCPROHD. To me, that means "over 60" mode support--not native 24p or 30p. Of course, Matrox does offer at present their 486 @ 23.98 format for automatic removal of standard or advanced pulldown from tape-based 24p footage, so I suppose it's possible that there will be a native 720 @ 23.98 format, as well.

jdajda: when using Cineform (or Raylight, if you have experience with that), do you use a Matrox project preset, or just a Premiere preset? I'm trying to find out if you can edit, preview and output using the RT.X2 with Raylight. Any comments?
