I've posted this before I believe, but not in the same way. So my friend and I just edited an interview. He is running on a PC and I am on a Mac. He captures everything with Premiere Pro 2.0. We shoot in 24pA on the DVX100B's. He uses the 24p NTSC project preset and everything. Now here's the problem:
He brought over his footage so we can edit it with FCP. When I imported the files into FCP, they were reading as 29.97fps, as if the advance pulldown was never removed when he captured. I've checked all the settings he uses and I can't figure out why this is happening. I know it is a problem because I exported the interview out of FCP and my clips (captured with FCP and in 23.98fps) looked fine but his were blurry/not as good quality. I tried searching for an answer, but no definite answers.
So basically, what in the world can be wrong for Premiere to not remove the pulldown while capturing, or is it another problem? Also, to save having to re capture several tapes, what can be done to correct these clips? I believe Cinema Tools has an option for that, but anything he can do on his PC?
