I can't seem to figure this out... I imported a premiere pro project into AE created my effects and now I want to bring everything back into Premiere Pro. I saw this in the Total Training dvd that came with AE but they don't explain how you actually send the footage back...

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

OK so I read that tutorial and tried it.. and I get this error when I try to paste back into Premiere:

Premiere has encounted an error and must shut down:
[\dev\starsky\Backend\Src\Sequence\ClipTrack.cpp.510]

Has anyone had this experience?

..hmmm they paste back and forth fine for me. did you render it before copying and pasting.
...or if that doesnt wok you can do what i do and keep the copy and just eat the paste :P

Re: Premiere Pro 1.5 to AE 6.5 to Premier Pro 1.5

I thought I could render it from premeire.. thats probably the problem... how should I render it? do I need to actually create a rendered file?

Re: Premiere Pro 1.5 to AE 6.5 to Premier Pro 1.5

depends ..if its a finished segment, you may as well just render it in AE. some of the AE effects do not work in premiere, so you cant use premiere to work with, or render them.

I'll have to try this, but I think we're talking about "pre-rendering" the comp, not "rendering." It still renders a movie but the movie is reimported into After Effects and is automatically used as a proxy for the original comp. It sounds like that proxy can also be cut and pasted into Premiere, which is pretty cool.
