Premiere or Vegas

Is premiere generally a better video editing system than vegas? I've been reading a lot of forums, and Vegas seems to be really popular if one is going for the "Film" look. Any comments?

I don't think either one is better at giving you the film look. That is achieved through lighting and composition and all that good stuff. I have both Vegas and Premiere pro. I use Premiere more because I'm more comfortable with the layout and the tools. I also work with the whole Adobe suite so that's another reason for me to use it. Either one is a good choice...but the footage will look the same.

I would recommend downloading the free trials and messing around with each one and seeing what you like better.

thanks for the opinions guys. I also have grown accostumed to using Premiere in the past, but have pondered what a NLE such as Vegas has to offer. I am too comfortable with Premiere, so I will be sticking with it.

I agree with download the trial version, see what suits you best. But then again this is the premiere thread :engel017:
