Premiere/Encore DVDs very LOUD!

Hey,

Whenever I make a DVD from Premiere and Encore, my DVD is very loud! Compared to a commercial DVD movie, my DVDs are so much louder!

Should I just drop the master audio level in Premiere, or is Encore increasing the volume or something?

What is the db level that a commercial movie uses?

I hate for my customers to be blown away when they put in my disc.

Thanks,
Michael

on a digital scale you can level your audio to peak just under 0 db. just be sure that your not blowing past that . its a good idea to always use a simple limiter effect on the master audio track of any project to keep the master output from exceeding about -.1 db. just make a preset and its easily appied with a few clicks at any time later.

Ok, thanks!

The audio level on video from my GS200 peaks at almost 0db in Premiere. I never knew that was too high. I'll keep the master down a bit from now on.

Thanks for the advice!
