Premiere CS5 - How to Export Quicktime with Multiple Embedded Audio Channels?

I've received a 1080p Quicktime .MOV of an old horror film with 16 separate 24-bit mono audio channels. I'm creating a director's cut, so I am removing/trimming a few scenes, then exporting back to Quicktime for an eventual DVD/Blu-ray.

Normally I just export video on this type of project but this time they've requested the audio and video in the same Quicktime file, similar the file I received. Upon testing, I've realized I don't know how to do this in Premiere - everything I try just renders a Quicktime MOV with all the audio merged into a single audio track.

Can anyone offer advice on how to remedy the situation, or know of a professional workaround if Premiere is not capable of generating a QT MOV file with multiple audio tracks?

I'm trying to export a quicktime file with multiple audio tracks. For example: track 1 is a stereo track with all the camera audio, while track 2 is a stereo track with Music & effects. This would create a similar situation of a TV show dumped to tape with channels 1&2 program audio, and channel 3&4 Music and Effects.

My assumed path would be to create 2 submixes: 1 "camera" and 2 "music & Effects." I was then hoping to export a quicktime with each sub mix as a separate audio track inside the exported quicktime. Is this correct?

At this point in time, Premiere Pro cannot do what you wish. I forwarded your request to the Premiere Pro engineering team so they know about your issue. If possible, can you submit a feature request for this, as well? Squeaky wheel gets the grease, you know?

You can file a feature request here: http://www.adobe.com/go/wish . More on how to give feedback: http://bit.ly/93d6NF

Thanks Phil. I read that while hunting for a solution and hoped it was incorrect or obsolete. I just filled out the feature request form.

Does anyone have a workaround that doesn't involve 16 individual audio files or the use of an OMF?

Using PP, you'll need those individual audio files. The only way to do this is to combine them into a single MOV using other software.
