Premiere CS3 Crash When Capturing SD Footage

For the last two days I've been having this problem with Premiere CS3 and I can't figure it out. But here's what happens... Premiere starts up fine, but when I connect a camera via Firewire my entire system crashes and reboots. It happens everytime. I've tried capturing with a Panasonic GS320 and my DVX100a, and tried capturing through two different firewire cards. But the same thing happens.

I tried to re-install Premiere and that didn't help.

I can get the log and capture window to come up without crashing, but ONLY if the capture device is offline. As soon the capture device comes online it's goodnight PC.

I haven't run Premiere in awhile, but I can tell you the last time I used it everything worked beautifully as it should. So I'm guessing it has something to do with new software/drivers/etc that have been installed since then. But does anyone know of any known driver issues that I can check into first?

I've heard of corrupt fonts crashing Premiere on start-up, and I have installed various fonts since last use. But a corrupt font shouldn't have any bearing video capture, right?

This is a homebuilt PC that I put together about a year and a half or so ago...
Windows XP Home Edition, SP3
AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core 5400+
2.81ghz
3.25 GB RAM (Thought I had 4GB, but it's saying only 3.25?..)
nVidia GeForce 7300 SE/7200 GS
160GB 7200RPM drive where my project is stored
250GB 7200RPM drive where my footage is stored and captured to, both drives have plenty of free space.

I'm hoping to get this problem sorted out this evening so I can knock out a quick edit for someone this week. Maybe someone out there has run into this before and can give me some pointers?

EDIT: updated my PC specs.
I've read that nVidia cards can clash with Premiere if drivers are updated, anyone heard of any known issues with this particular card? Maybe it'll work if I can go back to previous driver? Maybe I should just buy an ATI graphics card?

In case anyone was wondering, I figured out my problem.
Since the last time I used Premiere I installed a Creative brand web cam to use with Skype. I uninstalled the web cam software and Premiere worked like it should again. I don't know why I didn't check that earlier, but it works now so all is good and glorious.
