Premiere CC Audio Requirements for Broadcast work

Hello,

I'm finishing a low budget commercial that will be aired early next year. The broadcaster has strict requirements about a lot of things. The area that I'm weakest at is audio. They want 8 audio channels:

Ch.1 – Left
Ch.2 – Right
Ch.3 – Center
Ch.4 – LFE
Ch.5 – Left Surround
Ch.6 – Right Surround
Ch.7 – Descriptive Video Left
Ch.8 – Descriptive Video Right

I found out that on Premiere, if you Modify > Audio Channels and set your Channel Format to 5.1, it will give you 6 channels:

Ch.1 - Left
Ch.2 - Right
Ch.3 - Left Surround
Ch.4 - Right Surround
Ch.5 - Center
Ch.6 - LFE

This is the closest I can get to what they want. Is there a way I can customize this a bit more to reflect the exact requirements the broadcaster is asking for?

I think the problem may be that there's no way in PP to assign a track specifically to the LFE. You may need to do the audio work outside of PP.

Thanks Jim. This tutorial has gotten me a bit further with my challenge, though not fully. I'm not able to drag my audio tracks onto these 5.1 tracks (they are forced to be placed below the 8 tracks I have setup in the Sequence > Tracks setting)

Even if you got most of them working, I still think the problem will end up being that you can't specifically map the LFE audio to the LFE channel within PP.

Beyond that, you definitely can't add the extra 7/8 channels with this method.

I really do think your audio work will have to be done outside of PP.
