I'm going to be doing a bunch of speed changes in my video editing... is it okay to do this all in Premiere or would AE be better?

What about color correction, Premiere or AE?

much appreciated, I'm a total noob, been using Vegas but must use Premiere now for Audition compatibility.

You will get better results with AE. You have many more options as far as playing with time, along with better rendering options. Make sure when you color correct that you're working in 16-bit.
There is a thread, probably under AE, that lists a lot of great tutorial sites. Good luck!

Thanks for the help. I ended up not using Premiere because I just could not learn it that quickly. I've grown to love Vegas for its ease of use and speed in editing.

AE wow that thing is memory hog. I had my computer crash on me but I was running many apps. Going to need 4more GB to get to 8GB I suppose.
