I bought Premiere Pro 5.5, and I have questions about the differences between it and FCP.
I control click (on a Mac) the clips and send them to Effects, but if the clips are in the sequence (linked) and not the clip just added, and I try to send a single clip to effects, the entire timeline is exported instead. How do I delink a clip to send it to Effects? Can I change exposure and color correct directly in Premiere Pro without going through Effects?
With both Premiere Pro and Effects open on my old (2006, 8MG RAM) intel Mac Pro, I have to send a clip to effects and wait for it to finish before sending another - otherwise the program crashes. So I tried using these programs on a new i7 MacBook Pro (which is far, far faster) and this problem vanishes. However, I am looking at 1080/60P AVCHD files and dragging the part of the clip I want into the timeline (video only). There seem to be no option to do this with a transition, so I tried dragging them into the timeline when the project is finished. The problem with that is the clips are short and the space on a 15 inch laptop is very small, and it is difficult to work in this tiny space. Is there way to expand the size of the timeline so I can see it better? Also, is there a way to add transitions other than dragging them to the timeline?
Finally, if, for example, I want to correct exposure and also use warp stabilization (I love this amazing feature), can I correct the exposure first, then immediately drag the Warp Stabilization over the clip?
Thanks,
Bill
