Premier 6.0 settings?

Hi All,

I am shooting this weekend and the editor tells me he is using Adobe 6.0 (realize this is a fairly outdated version) but apparently there is a 24fps setting. Does anyone know if it is compatibile with 24p (know it does not support advanced)?

Searched post and could not find a definitive answer, any advice would be a great help. Thanks

No you can't edit a 24p DV .avi on Premiere 6.0 using the Premiere 24fps setting.

What you *can* do is buy DVFilm Maker software, at dvfilm.com. Maker allows you to convert your captured 24P DV .avi file into a 24P Quicktime .MOV, removing pulldown in the process. That makes it compatible with Premiere 6.0's 24p timeline.

Look at DVFilm for more info. Or, (and I highly highly highly highly highly highly recommend this course of action) ditch Premiere and get Vegas. Even if all you do is download the trial version for the duration of this project. 24P+Vegas = magic. 24P+any other editor = hassle (to judge by the number of 24p-related editing questions that show up on this and other boards!)
