prem pro 2 to DVD

Hi guys

I hope you can give some advice from experience here:

Filming with HVX2000 - set to 720 24pn or 720 30pn, with prem pro 2 set at 720 24, or 30, can anyone suggest the optimum setting to create DVD for general use?

there seem to be so many to choose from, maybe someone has already tried them out?

Many thanks

vince

I use the 16:9 progressive scan High Quality 7mb CBR setting and it seems to turn out well on a routine basis. Making the DVD progressive scan makes a big difference at least when viewing on an HDTV. I think that preset is somewhere in the middle of all of the presets if that makes sense...

Thanks - the change from DV shooting to HDV is quite daunting and there are so many presets that the experience of others is invaluable!

I want to keep as much quality as possible but make the DVD playable on most players but hoping to make it still look good on large screen 16 x 9s.

Thanks for the suggestions.

If anyone else has a comment - please let me know.

Yeah HD throws a wrench into things, but the end product is worth it! Let us know how it works out, we havent had any complaints yet from those presets but none of our clients our all that picky about video quality either... but they still want HD...

I use the VBR setting, but otherwise the same settings as jdajda. but theres really no reason not to use CBR and pack all the bits into each frame that you can if you know that project is going to fit onto the disc when its done.
