Prem CS5 and usb 3.0

Hey there , on monday i will get my usb 3.0 enclosed box with a 7200 RPM SATA II hdd Seagate

before i was editing some files on my harddrive that my OS is on( 7200 RPM drive) and it was still sluggish will usb 3.0 help out or it will be only good for transferring big amounts of data fast ?

usb 3 runs at similar speeds to SATA according to the tests on this site: http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=21527&page=3
It would have seemed sluggish because you are editing media files on the same drive that your OS and everything else is on. You'll see a huge increase in response time by simply moving your project to a dedicated editing drive.

Thanks for the reply Bimdas, So does that mean that i would need 2 hdds separate ? o

one for rendering ( i know cs5 does not need to render but i got a neatvideo plugin) , temp saves

once the drive comes it will be put to the test , with usb 2.0 vs usb 3.0


or a 10,000 PRM
